Payment Product Manager

We are a venture-backed fintech founded in 2021.  We work with global banks and money services businesses, providing market data and analytics and an FX trading and payment initiation platform.


We have ambitious plans and this role will be an important part of our future vison. Reporting to our Head of Product, we are looking for a Payment Product Manager to own and manage our payment product strategy with a focus on our payment APIs and orchestration layer. This will include:

 

  • Market analysis and research to:

    • Understand the current market, including:

      • legacy payment rails such as SWIFT

      • domestic and international Real-Time-Payments rails

      • stablecoins and near-term future payment rails

      • capabilities of established players and new entrants         

      • best-in class payment APIs and platforms   

    • Understand and document the needs of our payment partners and clients 

    • Develop and deliver our payment product roadmap 


  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for our payment APIs and orchestration layer, including:

    • Owning, maintaining, and developing a product backlog that enables the development team to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition for our payment product

    • Integrate feature requirements into the product roadmap 

    • Track the payment product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability


  • Providing pre-sales support to our Chief Commercial Officer and commercial team, including:

    • Running product demonstrations

    • Contributing to sales collateral such as pitch decks

 

This is an opportunity for a mid-level Product Management professional to take the next step in their career by leading a business-critical function at a fast growing and well-funded fintech. We are looking for someone with the aptitude to grow with us and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.   

   

Required skills, experience and qualifications


  • A minimum 4-6 years’ experience in cross-border payments, within an innovative, complex, and fast-moving environment

  • Deep experience of the product development life cycle

  • Proven ability to lead the end-to-end product development life cycle including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition and value management

  • Confident communicator capable of interacting directly with clients and payment partners at all levels, in both a pre-sales and a product capacity  

  • Proven experience working with payment platforms and payment APIs

  • Deep understanding of the major payment protocols, e.g., SWIFT, ISO 20022, IACH and major real-time payment rails
